Chief information officers (CIOs) expect an uptick in information technology (IT) hiring in the third quarter of 2006, according to the Robert Half Technology IT Hiring Index and Skills Report. Almost 15% of executives polled plan to add IT staff in the next three months, and 3% anticipate cutbacks. The net 12% hiring increase is up two percentage points from the previous quarter’s forecast.

It’s called microcredit, and Sam Daley-Harris, founder and head of the Washington non-profit Results Educational Fund, is passionate about it. He gave over 400 Halifax businesspeople a taste of the issue at a luncheon on June 16 in the hopes that they’ll sponsor or volunteer for the Global Microcredit Summit.

(Halifax, Nova Scotia) CrossOff Incorporated announced today that it has requested that the holders of its 9% Unsecured Convertible Subordinated Debentures approve an extension of the term of the debentures for a period of two years, with a reduction of the conversion price to $0.90 subject to regulatory approval. The debentures are currently due May 31, 2006. A meeting of debenture holders has been called for May 30, 2006 for this purpose.
