No one can criticize the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency for supporting just one sector.
A list of projects the federal development agency has supported this past month shows financial support for both public and private ventures, a mix of conventional and cutting-edge projects and assistance for small emerging companies and mature industries.
The projects include support for a company marketing a lobster-banding machine, financial aid for a company building rental cottages and help for a New Glasgow firm retooling its parking meter production facility. It is also includes help for a Dartmouth company that wants to ensure you never loose an e-mail again, and a project to revamp the heritage look of downtown Antigonish.
A full list of recently approved projects can be found in the chart above and in the list below:
•Cambra Properties Inc. of Wallace, Cumberland County, received a $75,000 loan toward the $187,550 construction of two rental oceanfront cottages.
•XEOS Technologies Inc. of Bedford received a $75,000 loan toward a $100,000 marketing program for its environmental science products.
•IronSentry Inc. of Dartmouth is receiving a $69,462 loan to help develop its e-mail and document archiving service. Total value of the project is $92,616.
•E.G. Energy Controls Ltd. of Amherst received a $67,500 loan toward a $90,000 marketing plan.
•The Flower Cart in New Minas received $40,224 for training and replacing baking ovens. Total cost $56,820.
•Salty Bear Adventure Travel Inc. of Halifax received a $34,250 loan on $54,000 worth of marketing activities and equipment purchases.
•Deep Vision Inc. of Dartmouth received a $25,313 loan to produce universal language communication systems. Total cost of the project $33,750...
