A Sydney company has purchased the exclusive Canadian rights to European wireless technology that it says will provide faster and better Internet, telephone and cable television service at a lower cost.
Tim Walker and Frank Campbell established Walcam Communications Inc. after seeing the wireless air technology at a trade show in Germany in March, only two months after the service was launched in Europe.
Recognizing it was the "most advanced technology in the world with regard to high-speed Internet, telephone and television," they immediately began negotiating with the European parent company to buy the rights, Mr. Campbell said Tuesday.
Although they signed the deal about a month ago, a confidentiality agreement prevents them from releasing the name of the parent company that owns the patented system.
