The CGI Group’s model for offering technical services to businesses means growth for the company in Atlantic Canada, says the Montreal firm’s senior vice-president for the region.
"Information technology is alive and well in Atlantic Canada," Cecil Smith said in an interview in Halifax on Wednesday. "There’s shifting work that’s going on around this model of near-shore, offshore. We are part of that, very successfully, and a lot of it is the result of the CGI scale, which allows us to play in that space."
