CHETICAMP -- There was a big cake and lots of smiles Monday when a new $2-million government-funded call centre officially opened for business in Cheticamp.
Acrobat Reseach Ltd., which has offices in Canso, Ontario and Africa, has completed renovations to the former Roman Catholic convent on Highway 19 — the Cabot Trail — and has begun to fill the 115 jobs it plans to have on site within the next six years.
So far, 17 local people have been hired and are being trained.
