NEW GLASGOW — The shooting this week at Dawson College in Montreal has generated intense interest in a police project being tested in New Glasgow schools.
"We’ve had calls from all over, and this was supposed to be a pilot project this year," said Const. Ken MacDonald, who co-ordinates the town’s school resource officer program.
The Montreal tragedy highlighted the need to prepare for threats to student safety, he said. "It’s not just fire drills anymore."
