HALIFAX, NS, Sept. 20 /CNW/ - The Helical Corporation Inc. ("Helical"), a
corporation whose trades of common shares are quoted on the TSX Venture
Exchange, (TSX Venture-HSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr.
William (Bill) Fleming as President and Chief Executive Officer of Helical.
An accomplished entrepreneur and business executive with over fifteen
years experience in the telecommunications and internet sector, Bill Fleming's
primary focus has been developing and implementing emerging IP business
strategies, building telecom partnerships, acquisitions and advising on
strategic management issues for international telecommunications companies.
Mr. Fleming brings broad experience in telecommunication sales, business
development, technology and management. Helical can look to Bill Fleming to
build on Helical's business lines and to continue to develop relationships
with leading partners such as Siemens and other USA Independent
Telecommunication Operators.
Mr. Fleming is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is often
called on by media to comment on trends and events in the telecommunications
and other related industries.
Lowell Weir, CA will provide consulting services to Helical and act as
Chief Financial Officer.
Further Helical wishes to report the appointment of Mr. Kiley Sampson to
the Board of Directors of Helical.
Kiley Sampson has over twenty years experience in the Marine, Oil and Gas
and renewable energy industry and having worked on multi-million dollar
projects in the Gulf of Mexico and North Sea. Mr. Sampson has served as a
partner with Quay Marine Associates and has worked on many USA energy
consultancy projects for international companies such as BP, and Helix.
Finally, Helical wishes to advise that Mr. Rick MacPherson has resigned
from the Board of Helical.
