When Kenzie Royal was invited to interview for a job with a competitor, the software developer with Keane Canada wasn’t interested. He was happy with his salary, enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with his colleagues and was an active member of a bevy of company sports teams.

But when the corporate suitor persisted, promising a package that would make it tough to say no, he agreed to an interview. The meeting went fine, but his jaw dropped when he was presented with "the package."

"There was nothing that was better than I have here with Keane," he said in a recent interview, as he relaxed in the company’s brightly coloured lunchroom, not far from a television and X-box gear that is available for employees’ use.

"I really can’t imagine what kind of offer another company would have to make to get me out of here. I love coming to work here every day."...

gotta love the quote from the guy who said he was able to "move up in the company from a programmer to a software developer". that's funny

What they don't tell you there is that the ADC is hiring all their new people on six month term contracts (no benefits, no vacation, nothing). So you're a contractor working how much they tell you and you don't get OT either. Then if they want to keep you, they hire you and they get another three months of probation out of you, so they get nine months where they can let you go any time they want. No bench there either.
