Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada – 8 February 2007 – Techlink Entertainment (Techlink), a Nova Scotia based developer and manufacturer of proprietary responsible gaming technologies, today announced plans for rapid commercialization of its unique card based informed player choice system.
In operation for a decade, Techlink has developed an interactive technology that provides gaming machine players with significantly enhanced game play control. Real time data generated through game play is distilled into meaningful information that allows players to make informed choices based on their circumstance. Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation has released the research results from one of the most exhaustive research programs ever involving a gaming technology. Among other things, the body of research made up of three significant studies establishes that players see the technology as decidedly beneficial. Individual behaviour is positively influenced to the extent that Nova Scotia is moving forward on a course to product deployment. Techlink has not been able to identify a comparable gaming technology.
In the past several months, Techlink has successfully secured more than $3 million in capital investment. Aggregate investment since inception now totals $20 million. Approximately half of this total is from the private sector, largely persons resident in Nova Scotia. A non-publicly traded company, Techlink is broadly held by close to 200 investors and is believed to be one of only a handful of Nova Scotia firms to have attracted investment of this magnitude from private interests. By end of March 2007, the company will close on an additional $3 million investment.
“The level of interest internationally in our card based informed player choice technology has been strong since its inception,” said John Xidos, President and CEO. “A significant number of gaming jurisdictions throughout Canada, United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand have been anxiously awaiting the research findings to confirm its effect. We’ll be in discussions with gaming regulators and operators internationally in the next number of months and expect to see orders beginning this year.”
Comprising staff of 50, Techlink is forecasting rapid expansion beginning later this year. Upwards of 300 engineers, programmers, system designers, graphic artists, administrative and production support persons are anticipated to be in the company’s employ within the next three years. This will make Techlink one of Nova Scotia’s largest knowledge-based enterprises.”
