The door to cyberspace will soon be opening a little faster for people in metro's rural communities.
Announced yesterday, high-speed Internet access will be expanded to 45 rural areas as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's Rural Broadband Project.
The federal and provincial governments will kick in more than $2.6 million for the project and a request for proposals for providers went out in late 2006. The rest of the money will come from metro itself, said Eastern Shore-Musquodoboit Valley Coun. Steve Streatch...
