A regional councillor is keen to get high-speed Internet access up and running in rural communities.
"It’s very close to becoming a reality," Coun. Steve Streatch (Eastern Shore-Musquodoboit Valley) told fellow councillors at city hall Tuesday night.
The councillor requested a staff report on broadband communications, which comes days after a $2.6-million federal-provincial funding announcement.
