PORT HAWKESBURY — The Strait Area Chamber of Commerce is compiling a list of qualified call centre workers as part of an effort to attract a new tenant to fill the departing Electronic Data Systems operation.
"Our highly skilled workforce and first-class facility are generating considerable interest in the industry," chamber president Dan Fougere said in a release Monday.
"We know there are families depending on those jobs; replacing them as soon as possible is our first priority," he said.
Identifying a ready workforce is one of a number of assets "we hope will attract a new tenant to this site," he said. "This information is vital to securing a new client to the site."
