Minacs, an international business-process outsourcing company, plans to create up to 350 jobs in Port Hawkesbury. The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), has authorized a payroll rebate for Minacs to a maximum of $2,684,500 over the next five years. Premier Rodney MacDonald made the announcement on Friday at an event in Port Hawkesbury.
The payroll rebate with Minacs will be invested as the company reaches its job targets at its new Port Hawkesbury location. Minacs has been operating in Nova Scotia for about 10 years. The company has more than 600 employees working at its Halifax location. "We've experienced Nova Scotia's competitive advantages first hand and we know Port Hawkesbury is the right fit for our expansion," said Jeff Williams, executive vice-president, sales and marketing for Minacs.
