Tuesday, September 18, 2007 Aliant investing $1.7 million to provide high-speed Internet to rural HRM
Aliant expanding High Speed to 43 communities in the Eastern Shore area as part of new project
Halifax, Nova Scotia - Aliant, Atlantic Canada's leading information and communications technology provider, today announced that it was selected by Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) and government funding partners to provide high-speed Internet to residents in the Eastern Shore area of HRM. HRM is providing project management services, and, the Government of Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia are providing funding for this project. The deployment of High Speed across the area is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Aliant responded to an HRM Request for Proposals earlier this year to provide High Speed to areas in HRM. For more information about the project please visit www.halifax.ca (search words: Aliant High Speed)
Note: Although extensive coverage is projected within the above mentioned communities, there will be areas on the perimeter that may be outside the coverage area. Complete coverage details will not be available until the site is actually deployed and service testing is conducted as part of the High Speed commissioning process.

Would it be too difficult to bring hi speed to Prospect,N.S.? The line stopped about 2/3 miles from the village. Have you forgotten us? We were forced to use Eastlink |

| We live a part or the world forgotten about hi speed internet. Economy Nova Scotia. We are a small community between Bass River and Five Island[both have hispeed internet] thatbwas left out in nthe cold by both Eastlink and Aliant with no help in sight. What can be done???????????? |
