A Halifax technology company has received a $17-million term loan and another several million in payroll rebates, the province announced Wednesday.
IMP Group is already benefiting from the deal, which was reached before the election call last weekend, a spokesman for Nova Scotia Business Inc. said.
"We’ve been working on it for several months and we reached an agreement in the last couple of weeks," Paul Doucet said.
The agreement, which includes the loan and another $2.8 million in payroll rebates for up to 350 jobs over the next five years, will not be affected by the upcoming election, Mr. Doucet said.
"It’s a legally binding agreement," he said.
"Basically it’s an extension to their existing aerospace facility," Mr. Doucet explained, adding that the province was "delighted" to step in and help a local company.
