 Cape Breton-based Techlink lands major VLT contract

Cape Breton-based Techlink Entertainment has landed a major contract within the provincial gaming world. The Nova Scotia Gaming Corp. announced Monday that Techlink has been awarded the contract for an Informed Player Choice System for video lottery terminals.

The announcement was great news for Techlink, which may have been the smallest of the three companies looking for the contract. “We won against the big boys,” said Techlink president and CEO John Xidos. “We’re 70 (employees), but we’ll probably climb to 100 now with the Nova Scotia announcement.”

The announcement comes following two years of groundbreaking research on the impact of adding interactive responsible gaming features to VLTs. Based on positive research findings by three independent experts, in February of this year, a request for proposals was released, inviting technology suppliers in the gaming sector to propose technology solutions for an Informed Player Choice System to be rolled out across the province.
