Halifax-based music networking website OnlineMusicNetwork.ca (OMN) is relaunching soon. In addition to the profiling features it already offers, it will be unveiling an on-demand video component produced in conjunction with UNTV.ca.
The beta version of the site has been up and running since early January of this year. The free online music site is targeted towards musicians, fans and industry professionals in the Atlantic Canadian music scene. So far, over 100 musicians and artists have profiles.
“We want you to be able to have music, video, profiles, show dates, industry contacts… everything you need… all in one spot,” says OMN founder Geoff Fleming. “Our hopes are that it’ll be a one-stop music site.”
The site currently features different types of accounts for music fans, musicians, concert venues and industry professionals. Having an account allows users to list events, engage in forums, and advertise themselves. The site also makes it possible for people to buy tickets online, book shows at venues and contact other musicians/industry people.
Halifax-based indie band Covalent Bond has been using the site for a couple of weeks. Drummer Malcolm Rodgers says the layout is convenient and a great resource for Atlantic Canadian musicians...
