 HALIFAX, June 6 /CNW/ - NovaKnowledge's Luncheon Series is taking a
provocative look at innovation, and whether Nova Scotia has the people, skills
and confidence to pursue new ideas and achieve sustainable growth. On June
21st, CBC Television broadcaster, journalist and author Evan Solomon will
speak at the NovaKnowledge luncheon.
As provocative in print as he is on the air, Evan Solomon spends his
professional life exploring the world of innovation, advances in technology,
changing business paradigms, and creative approaches to managing and solving
the complex challenges of sustainability in the 21st century. A long-time
print and broadcast journalist, Evan is the co-host of the two weekly news and
current affairs shows CBC News: Sunday and CBC News: Sunday Night and the host
of the Gemini award winning CBC Newsworld show called HotType.
Evan was the co-founder, and for eight years the editor-in-chief, of
Shift magazine, an award-winning international magazine about technology and
culture. He is the co-editor and writer of the best-selling books Fueling the
Future: How the Battle Over Energy Is Changing Everything, which was nominated
of the National Business Book of the Year in 2004 and the National Science
Award in 2004, and Feeding the Future: From Fat to Famine, How to Solve the
World's Food Crisis, released in 2005.
Evan's insightful views dispel many of the myths and hype surrounding not
only surround the digital world but human progress in general - presenting a
unique, realistic picture of where things now stand, and where they may be
headed.
Evan Solomon will talk about innovation, technology and changes in the
world of business. He'll also offer his vision for how Nova Scotia can
capitalize on; even play a leading role in bringing about these changes. And
how seizing on the opportunities ahead will help forge an international
reputation for Nova Scotia as a progressive place to live and do business.
